Ellie

Flooding the dance floor, Ellie and her friends had managed to put the phone call behind her. For the most part, at least. Having had one too many vodkas, four too many shots and three rather foolish cocktails (the Apollo Club’s equivalent of a strawberry daiquiri), it would be fair to say that Ellie had loosened up. The group wiggled, jumped and bumped against one another, holding their drinks above their heads to avoid any spillages. Granted, they all already stank of liquor and sweat.

The shit DJ was still rapping between songs but, somehow, it all seemed much funnier now. And Dale still had Ellie’s phone in his pocket, but she wasn’t worried about anyone calling anymore. The message had been passed on and Ellie had received it loud and clear. Trouble was on the way but so was help. It seemed even more exciting now that she was drunk. She had even managed to convince herself that the calls hadn’t been a hoax and that she was in genuine and severe danger. Maybe her superhero coming to save her would look like that hairy dude from the X-Men movies; the one with the spiky hands. Mmmmm, if only.

After another hysterical rap, Rihanna’s song “Disturbia” began to play. The group squealed with excitement. Well the girls did anyway; the boys were too inebriated to notice what song was playing – as long as the girls could dance to it, it was all good. This was one of the girls’ all-time favourite songs. It had been released around about the time of Maegan’s 21st birthday and had been a firm favourite since all of the girls had marched home singing it at around four in the morning. Several of Maegan’s neighbours had complained, but they didn’t care in the slightest.

Out of nowhere, Dale grabbed Ellie by the hips and pulled her against him; her shoulder blades pressed against his chest. A grin pushed the corners of her mouth out wider. So it looked like they were making up then. Clearly, Dale had decided so. His hands stayed on her hips, feeling them wiggle beneath his touch. It was a sensation they were both enjoying.

This was much much better than fighting, the blonde girl thought.
